Tribute to Robert Racine

21st September 2018 |   Journal Of Sales Transformation

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Robert Racine on the morning of 3 September.

Despite a demanding role as Wipro’s VP, Global Sales Enablement, Robert always found time to contribute to organisations dedicated to furthering our understanding of sales enablement. He was a member of the Journal’s editorial board, a Fellow of the APS, and an active participant of the Sales Enablement Society.

Journal editor Nick de Cent said: “We always appreciated the way Robert so unselfishly shared his expertise. He was a giant of sales thought-leadership and a truly remarkable and charming man who will be missed by everybody.”

APS CEO Andy Hough described Robert as a leader in the APS and a driver or professionalism in sales. He said: “Robert and I shared many a beer and discussion, many a debate and a resolution, and always a smile and a word of love and encouragement.

Work colleagues were quick to pay tribute on social media. Eravi Gopan, Global Business Head at Wipro, said: “Today, we lost an amazing human being and a wonderful colleague. He had a big effect on many of us and the wider organisation. A gentle soul and a quintessential nice person! Thank you for everything.

Vishal Gupta, Head of Data Management, Global Sales Enablement, said: “Robert was a perfect example of humble leader who guided his team members at every possible instance. It’s a huge loss for us and for the organisation as a whole.”

V Ramakrishnan, Global Head – Strategy and M&A, Consumer BU at Wipro, said: “The vacuum he has left behind in his team and Wipro will be difficult to fill.”
Robert held various sales leadership roles during his career: at Wipro, TCS, EDS, SAP, and Oracle. He is survived by his wife Christiane and four children.
