Meet the synthetic buying committee

How to help sales and marketing get closer to the customer.
Abstract
Sales and marketing are told to get closer to the customer. In a complex sale, that instruction misfires because there is no single customer to get close to. There is a buying committee that never sits in one room, and most commercial teams optimise every function for the same one member of it.
This article names the structural force behind that failure, organisational gravity, and traces the three points where the buyer exits the commercial process. It then sets out what account-based marketing (ABM) and AI change, and the one rule that decides whether AI helps or harms: synthetic for directional, human for decisional.
Read it to understand why alignment workshops disappoint, why most ABM underperforms in a committee sale, and how a synthetic buying committee lets a team rehearse against the stakeholder who actually decides. Some of these ideas are early for the market. That is rather the point.
