Over 100 students from universities across South-East Asia recently competed in three rounds of the latest South-East Asia Sales Competition (SEASAC) 2022, sponsored by paint manufacturer PT Propan Raya.

The competition offered participants a “great sales educational experience” one of the leading judges for the final round, Dr Colin Mackenzie told the Journal.

The qualifying round was completed on 13-15 September, with the semi-final and final round were held on 12-13 October 2022 as face-to-face and hybrid sessions at Bina Nusantara University (BINUS) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

PT Propan Raya provided the case for a series of highly interactive role plays in front of panels of a range of international judges.

Dr Mackenzie, a businessman and academic from Edinburgh Napier University, said: “The students were really put to the test with a difficult and complex case. In the final, the buyer, who was a real sales manager from the sponsoring company, challenged the students. However, all the finalists performed really well and the competition was to a very high international standard.”

Next year’s competition will be held by the University of Gadjah Mada in Indonesia. For further details see www.SEASalesCompetition.com.
