28th May 2020 |   Mike Schultz

What are the top sales leadership priorities for the coming months? What are sales leaders looking to accomplish? What would they do if money were no object? To find out, the RAIN Group Center for Sales Research surveyed 423 sales, enablement, and company leaders. Respondents were asked about the importance of 16 different potential priorities and asked the $64,000 question: “If you could propose one new initiative, and senior leadership would approve and fund it in full, what would that initiative be?”

TOP 10 SALES PRIORITIES - % VERY IMPORTANT

Analysis

It’s interesting that nearly all of the top sales priorities that bubble to the top have to do with developing seller skills. Along with these survey responses, we reviewed almost 400 verbatim answers. A few mentioned improving recruitment; almost no one mentioned compensation; almost no one mentioned sales process; some mentioned one technology or another. The most commonly mentioned priority was sales and sales manager skill development.
